Privacy Policy

STARS ("we", "our", "the app") is a platform for discovering events, going live, and connecting with creators. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By using STARS you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — email, username, password (stored encrypted), and optionally a bio, profile photo, cover photo, social links, a website and a location (such as a town or country) that you type into your profile.
• Content you create — posts, events, stories, comments, live chat messages, and the photos and videos you upload.
• Live audio and video — when you go live or join a live session, your camera and microphone streams pass through our streaming provider so other participants can see and hear you. A live is only saved as a replay when the host turns recording on.
• Activity — bookings, likes, follows, views, and notifications, so the app works and shows relevant content.
• Notification token — if you allow push notifications, a device token so we can send alerts such as “an event you booked is starting”.
• Safety reports — when you report content or block an account, we keep that record so our moderators can act on it.
• Technical data — basic device/connection info and IP address, used for security and to keep the service reliable.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the core features — accounts, events, bookings, live streaming, comments and notifications.
• To keep the platform safe (preventing abuse, spam and fraud).
• To improve the app and understand what content is popular.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Camera, microphone & photos

With your permission, STARS uses your camera and microphone to let you go live and create stories, and your photo library to share posts and set your profile picture. These are only accessed when you choose to use those features. You can revoke access anytime in your device settings.

STARS does not sell anything in this version — all events are free and there are no purchases or subscriptions. We collect no payment or card details. If paid features are added in future, this policy will be updated before they go live.

6. Your rights & choices

• Access & edit — you can view and update your profile in the app.
• Delete your account — Profile → settings icon → Delete Account permanently removes your account and content. Full instructions, including how to remove individual posts or ask us by email, are on our account deletion page.
• Permissions — you control camera, microphone, photo and notification access in your device settings.
• Report & block — you can report any post, comment or account from inside the app, and block accounts you no longer wish to see. Blocked accounts are listed under Settings → Blocked accounts.

7. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Stories are ephemeral and expire after 24 hours. When you delete your account, your personal data and content are removed.

8. Age requirement

STARS is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete the account and its data. If you believe a minor is using STARS, contact us at the address below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
